updating the source for a book

I convert "books" that get frequent updates, especially spelling and formatting. If I add a book, edit metadata and convert it, it transfers to my Kindle just fine.

The problem: If I edit the source file (book.html) how can I get Calibre to recognize the source changed and reconvert the book? I currently have to delete the book in the Calibre library and readd the book. I'm just looking for a shortcut. The source file is frequently kept on a thumb drive or in my dropbox.com account until it's finalized many revisions later.

Am I storing the original source files in the wrong locations?

Help?

Thank you!

You are the only source of that 'has been updated' information.

I have a custom timestamp field 'EPUB Edited', that I update.
You will need to launch a manual Conversion if you have not also deleted the Mobi format when setting the (up)date

It does not solver your whole problem, but trather than delete the existing Calibre Book entry I would use the Edit Metadata dialog to replace the copy stored in Calibre and then manuall trigger a re-convert.
