Need to add genre values to Nook titles

Need to include tag or genre value in book title. I just got a Nook Tablet and whilst it is a great device, sending books to it from Calibre is not so great. For example, I have Thriller, Mystery and Crime as three of my genres (tags) but these values do not display on the Nook. When you send books to the Nook and use Edit/Shelves (Shelves map onto genres or tags) every book on the Nook gets displayed and that can be many hundreds in my case. Series value, title and author get displayed but nothing else; I have to go through all the titles, cross checking with my Calibre library to see what title belongs on which 'shelf'. If I was able to include the tag value in the title (I only ever have one value and that's the genre) then I could easily see which shelf each book should go on. I have tried this:

{tags} - {series}{series_index:| - | - }{author_sort}/{title} - {authors}

in the template editor but no tags appeared on the downloaded books.

Anyone managed to find a solution for Nook?

Thanks.

PS: I should mention that author does not get displayed on the Nook EDIT list, just the title - that's why it's such a pain to add a lot of books according to genre/shelves

The template just affects the filename, whie the title being displayed is almost certainly from the books internal metadata.

If you want to get the title in the internal metadata set while transferring the book to the device, then the facility to use is what in Calibre are known as 'metadata plugoards'. Details are in the User Guide - I do not have it to hand to give you a link to the relevant part.
