My nephew had a job in a local supermarket (24-hour opening) for a while and tells me that after midnight a lot of people turn up in their pyjamas, or else those leisure trousers and vests adopted by the young, and big fluffy slippers.
I got even more insomniac than usual one night, and went shopping at 3am, and it was true. Lots of people in big furry slippers, yawning.

i don't think we have any supermarkets open 24 hours here. i'm kind of glad, because i know i wouldn't want to go grocery shopping at 3 in the morning. but at the same time i'm really intrigued by the surreal mental images i have now of a grocery full of people in pyjamas and furry slippers. i can't imagine doing that. i even get dressed to go downstairs to my mailbox.

Around here ... well, we are out in the country ... it is not uncommon to see people in their jammies walking their dogs. Actually, it wasn't uncommon to see that in downtown San Diego either.

My view is ... hey, I'm decently covered ... who the hell cares if I'm wearing fuzzy slippers or hiking boots?? Heck, if I'm that tired, I'll go to bed in my jeans and t-shirt ... so does that make them jammies??

Right, here's my attempt at LOLcat humor... such as it is.

Edit: sigh. I can't see the attachment, even though the system says it's there. Can anyone else see it?

What you really gotta do is go to Walmart at 3:00AM. There are still plenty of shoppers, but they are mostly dressed as "Night of the Living Dead." BTW, that's Tim's and my fave time to shop. What does that tell you about our shopping apparel? Well, in winter, it's a coat over jammies and sneaks without socks. In summer, it's nothing but tanks, shorts, and sandals, seeing as how it's still 85 degrees at 3:00 in the morning.

ooh, i want that t-shirt as well !!! along with the SSCMDB t-shirt that pshrynk and i are working on, and the "667 : neighbor of the beast" t-shirt that patricia's friend has...

i think we should open a cafe press t-shirt shop.

EDIT : possibly also a "555 : a few streets farther down than the beast." heheheh. i kill me.

I've always thought of the time 3:33 (either AM or PM) as being half the beast. I guess that shows I only have digital clocks.
