Question Difficulties with Sigil

Yesterday I tried to convert web page filtered HTML book using Sigil with the assistance of my web developer. However contrary to claims in Sigil Conversion chart and Sigil Tutorial, we found that Sigil accepts only .txt documents.

Further Sigil claims to be supporting images and tables as is apparent from their advice on proofreading of Sigil converted documents but how would that be possible when .txt - the entry software to Sigil does not support images and text and permits only minimal formatting.

There appears to be wide gap between facts and fiction (Sigil's Claims).

Shall any one reply.

I think a reputed organization like Google should in indulge in such marketing practices since it leads to a criminal waste of user's time and other resources.

That was a very rude first post. It also shows your ignorance:

Sigil accepts html documents as input, including CSS and images. Maybe there's some problem with your document or a bug in the version of Sigil you are using that prevents certain documents from being correctly imported. Sigil is still beta (did you notice that version numbers start with 0?) and is also free and open source, so if you are using it you can contribute by reporting errors or correcting them yourself. You can also use some commercial software for the task, if you find one that suits you.

Google only hosts the code, Sigil is not a Google product. And what marketing practices are you talking about?
Again, if you don't want to waste your valuable time and resources, go for a commercial product.

And don't waste OUR valuable time writing nonsense in these forums.

Pablo is correct in saying that I am really a beginner to information technology and therefore I look upon it as an extension to common sense and ordinary logic that we all possess, which as experience tells me It is not.It essentially consists of virtualism imitating reality which ordinary souls like mine fail to comprehend and react rudely.
Since my post I have revisited Sigil and studied its documentation which does raise some hope about some of the difficulties I faced but I am still in total dark as to how to make Sigil accept webpage/web page filtered/HTML document. The only way I am able to comprehend so far is that I should reformat the book in .txt and then proceed further. If this is the only way then please confirm.
Now let me introduce myself. I am a medical doctor by profession and have recently written a book "Encounter of Science with Philosophy - A synthetic view". I also got created a web site [Promotion deleted - MODERATOR] to promote ideas contained in the book and the book. It is only in connection with this book that I identified Sigil as a good resource and tried to use the same with the assistance of my web developer.

Further Mr Pablo , I am a medical doctor and medical ethics don' allow me to maltreat a patient even if I am treating him for free. Free treatment does not reduce his rights of moral, ethical or legal origin.
Moreover I am sure even Devil will not be able to comprehend revenue models of all the businesses in this world but one thing is certain that no business survives on charity alone.

Thank you for introducing yourself in the Introduce Yourself Forum.

Now, about Sigil: You may wish to look around our site, in order to become familiar with where forums and threads are located.

If you need any help, please PM me or another Moderator.

I did, however, delete your link, since MobileRead does not allow any kind of promotion and/or links outside of the Self-Promotion forum - and under strict posting guidelines so as to avoid any spam or semblance of spam.
