Has anyone made any other purchases from AmazonLocal?

This is my first purchase from them. Their ads now dominate the ads on Special Offer Kindles and I tend to see them as spam. For the most part, these local offers don't appeal to me in the least. Some of the dining offers look good, but I don't dine out.

I see this gift card offer as a one off in an attempt to advertise the existence of AmazonLocal (launched Jun 2011) and to bring in more customers. But it won't work on me. I'll take the offer and still ignore the rest of them.

I purchased a certificate for a massage 50% off at a local spa. I haven't called to make the appt yet. They sold about 200 of them and I'm sure they are inundated with phone calls seeking appts. I'll wait a week.

I had previously opted out of Amazon Local emails and I bought the deal yesterday. Guess what just showed up in my inbox? An Amazon Local email, of course!

I haven't opted out, but there haven't been any really local offers, either. The ones i've seen are all national or travel.

Of the 5 AL ads currently on my Kindle, 3 of them are local; and that's usually the case.

I have two 'Local' offers, one for the Fatheads and one for the Hardrock hotel in Vegas. That's about as local as I get.

I have those as my non-local ones. I've had up to 7 AL ads and up to 13 ads/offers.
