so now i can explain to you, that you click the multi-quote button of every post you want to quote (it seems to remeber the order as well), then (this is key) YOU MUST CLICK "NEW REPLY" at the bottom of the page. otherwise, it does nothing, except if you leave them clicked you will have maddening reminders every time you post that "You have selected 3 posts that are not part of this thread. Quote these posts as well, or deselect these posts." until you do one of the two. Quote:

okay, is she holding her arm behind her head? I'm getting everything but the face and head region. She's looking to our left?

Hmmmmm. I guess these silhouette images are harder than I thought. I thought it was a cowboy boot. I can't make out a girl at all.

Face is in shadow, from the hat, which is barely drawn, because it's in full sunlight. Her right arm at her side, her left resting on her knee, hand on her hat. You don't SEE those, because they are in full light. The point of these drawings isn't to produce a portrait, with all features, but only to draw the areas in shadow. This is a girl in swim bottoms, a white t-shirt, and a big hat. It's perfectly possible for a girl drawn in this manner to look exactly like an old boot, though she probably wouldn't be flattered at the comparison. |

i can see the girl. but the whole boot interpretation has given me an idea : maybe you should make a set of these and sell them to pshrynk for use as rorschach tests. that way, pshrynk can also keep himself (and certain perceptive patients...) entertained while he is grappling with other people's neuroses. |

DING! and it falls into place. The little bit of speckling at the side of the head region is the underside of the hat brim! Way cool!

Oooookay. Her left knee is drawn up, and is as high as her shoulders. I had to back my chair way up, and it finally hit me. It was the position of the legs that I couldn't figure out, till I backed up further. Yes --- very nice artwork. You could probably sell them! |

Personally, I like the "Old Boot" theory better. No girl I ever saw looked like that and I would never portray a lady as an old boot but robots may have thicker skin than I. |

Then you haven't backed up far enough. Back up .... keep going .... further .... Ooops, watch out for that cliff!! |

Nicely done, PlanetHead. I really like it. I'm curious if you'd accept a challenge, though - drawing a person who is not an attractive woman. You must have known that was coming eventually.
