I'm guessing at around 1500+. I usually read about 4-5 books a month with at least 350 pages. I like books to be about 450+ pages but that's not always easy to find in a hurry. I panick if I finish a book and have nothing else to read.

Was curious so looked up average reading times etc. Got more curious and put little kitchen timer beside my bed Looked up page numbers in stores to see how they coincided to page numbers in my reader.

Then I saw article(s) about Harry Bloom who read 10,000 words per hour in his prime, and has been reduced to 5,000 word per hour now that he has aged. With close to perfect retention. That is humbling.

The timer is back on it's shelf over the stove.

Yikes. I read about a page every two minutes. I read for 45 minutes on bus rides and another half hour before bed. That gets me maybe 40-50 pages in a day at the most.

I do not know how many pages I read a month. I am to busy reading to count.
Taking the time to count them would interfere with my reading.

Reading fast is not always an advantage. I took speed reading(SRA) in grades 2-4 and once you have done it you are stuck with it.

Many times I have wished I read slower, as I ran out of books to read.

It is all about the enjoyment of the book, and if you have zero books to read, zero enjoyment from reading.

I had plenty of time to read in January, but was surprised that my 17 books tallied 8,453 pages.

I suspect that these will not prove to be the average stats.

To actually hit my target for this year I need to average 1750 pages per month. So I'm going to be optimistic and say that I'm reading between 1600 - 1999 a month.

January was a bit lower than that - I'll see how I go for Feb.

I read for fun. Why should I worry how many pages, I don't get paid (or fined) by the page

My answer:
Lots

I don't read pages... This is a silly question for e-book readers.

This is one of the reasons me and my daughter love our eReaders: We don't run out of books to read! Ever! She travels a lot, backpacking, and B.e. (Before eReader) she could only bring a couple of paperbacks, and had to kind of "save" them to last (and of course they were finished way before she wanted to). Now she can bring as many books as she wants!

I wouldn't dream of keeping any kind of statistics over page counts, so my previous estimates are from recalling what books I read lately and also estimating number of pages.

Don't most readers give page numbers? All the devices I've tried display "real" page numbers, not just "screen" numbers. (The "real" is of course not completely true, but at least in the balllpark.) I do look at the number of pages in a book to estimate how long I will need to spend on it, since I have rough ideas how much time I need for different types of content. I go between different font sizes, so I wouldn't want "screen counts" to replace page count.

I read at least an hour a day ~60 pages.

This does not include the countless stream of words that I deal with 8 hours a day at work or any web browsing.

If you hit the Menu button while in the book most of them show how many pages are in the book and which page you are on.
