| Yes, it's my security blanket. I have bought purses/jackets/clothing around my need to carry it at all times. | | 87 | 32.58% |
| Yes. Well, most of the time. I'm not as obsessive as the people in Option 1. | | 89 | 33.33% |
| About 50/50 for me. The people in Option 1 and 2 are pretty extreme. I like pina coladas. | | 39 | 14.61% |
| Not really. I didn't vote in Option 3 because I thought it sounded kind of sanctimonious. | | 34 | 12.73% |
| No, I keep my eReader at home, often in a locked safe. If I don't take the wrapper off, it will accrue in value. | | 9 | 3.37% |
| Dear madam, these poll options are dreadful, and additionally I have a kipper in my ear. | | 19 | 7.12% |

+1 on the turning around if I forget it thing - the Kindle is always in my hands on days I go to work since I read while walking. Reading while on the tube helps the time pass, and given how unreliable the London tube/DLR is it is almost inevitable to hit delays to increase the reading time. I get an extra 60-90mins reading time a day from that alone - then there is while you are eating, cooking, waiting for others, waking up, going to sleep... no wonder I read so many more books a month now... |

Since I read mostly on my phone, I pretty much always have it with me. It IS my security blanket - security against being bored at the bank, bored at the grocery store, bored at the doctor, bored anywhere! I'm a totally different person (calm, mellow) if I have something to read while waiting vs. if I don't (snarky, sort of unpleasant). My husband says it's a mental weakness to not be able to amuse myself without a book while waiting in line, but sorry, I like reading while waiting! I often also bring one of my other readers depending on what I'm planning on doing - if I'm going to be eating at a restaurant with an outdoor patio (love sunny southern California) or otherwise outside, I'll bring an e-ink reader; if I'm going to the gym, I bring the old end-of-life PDA that I don't care if I sweat on; etc. I echo all the folks earlier in the thread who said they never used to leave home without a DTB or two - now I don't leave home without my reader, errrrr, phone. |

I carry it everywhere mostly. The only way I'd consider leaving it is if I have my iphone with me as I can read my kindle books on there at a push.

Yeah, I confess that I'm one of those folks who carry the thing from room to room. I even take it along when I pick up hubby at the train station. Hey, you never know when the train will be three minutes late - that's valuable reading time! Started carting an ereader with me everywhere when I got my first Rocket Ebook. Can't imagine the habit will change now, more than ten years later. I know - I'm obsessed. |

As opposed to my previous reader, I greatly enjoy the Kindle Touch I now have. Nowadays I don't read a lot for recreation because I've got a full time job, doing another extra study and have a household to manage. I am in public transport for 2-3 hours a day however, where I never took a book because of size and weight of some of them. I assume that I will start to read a lot more now, because I do intend take the Kindle with me. |

If my iPhone counts, then yes I do. I always have that with me, and if I have a minute to read, I do.

I'm an obsessive No. 1 and proud of it. It is my security blanket. I did actually buy an expensive bag just for the safe carting about of my reader at all times. But it was easy to justify, since I hadn't bought a new bag in years. And it sure beats carrying around paper books! Besides, you never know where you'll be able to snatch a bit of reading time! I offer a quote from Anne McCaffrey: "I have a shelf of comfort books, which I read when the world closes in on me or something untoward happens." |

Bags are one thing I have way too many of. Buying a reader didn't change anything, since I always carried at least one book in my bag, and a reader is smaller than that. However, now that I carry my reader AND my iPad, most of my bags are too small. Time for some shopping...

Depends where I'm going. But if I'm going to be out for more than a day, I definitely pack it with me.

I carry my smartphone with me everywhere and it has several reader apps on it. I do not carry my actual e-ink readers around -- I have one that I keep to read at home and one that I keep in my computer bag to read at work during lunch. If I'm away from home, I prefer to work on my knitting, but do have at least one book in progress on my phone as backup for when I am waiting for something and can not work on my knitting project. |

I use my netbook at school and work, so I usually have my bag with me, and it has a pouch that fits my ebook reader, so I usually have it with me.
