Got it, it's very helpful, and I sent you a new test version.

Just posted a new beta which might be better in regard to the "five second flash problem". (It is five seconds: the OS shuts down the process, waits five seconds, and restarts it.) The "seven second flash problem" before the screen times out is not fixed.

I've been experiencing the same intermittent flicker issue when screen dim is active. I initially thought it might be defective hardware until hoosiermama reported the same thing. If more data would be helpful, I would be happy to send a log over the weekend. |

Sure, but download the latest beta first.

Pruss, I just tried to download the new beta and got a not found error. Could you double check the link. Thanks |

Pruss,I've had the app running last evening and all today, with no more sudden brightenings. This one seems to be working well! I'll let you know if that changes, but it looks good so far.

One test would be to run some high-memory-usage app, like some big 3D game, and see if it continues to work. | |

I don't know if they're what you'd call high end games, but my grandson has been playing games on it all day with no issues. |

The beta has been working flawlessly. I've run it at a variety of brightness settings with a number of other apps. I played Sim City for about an hour without problems. No issues with the kindle app or dolphin either. Good work! |

Working flawlessly for me, too. I have set and reset the settings and the grandson was on the Fire all last evening and this morning. No issues at all. Nice! And thanks for being so responsive! |

Question...will the app be automatically updated with new versions in the amazon app store or do we have to get it right from the dev?

Yes, but first Amazon needs to approve it for the Appstore, and then Amazon needs to approve it for the Kindle. Takes about five days. :-( If you can't wait that long, and you're one of the participants in this thread (I don't want to handle dozens of emails manually), you can email me your original Amazon purchase confirmation email, and I can email you 1.05 full.
