Return For Refund - New Feature!

You can now return a book for refund straight from your Manage Your Kindle
page.

It's located in the actions menu. It looks like it's only available for books you purchased 7 days ago or less.

This is a much needed feature for us who buy through the Site.

I just looked, and I didn't see this option under Actions for a book bought 2 days ago.

Keep checking. Amazon likes to roll out features in batches. It could be your account doesn't have it yet. Look again tomorrow.

It's for purchased books only not free books.

Oh this is fantastic, it saves me from having to keep sending them emails.

That's nice. I thoroughly hate 1-Click buying.

I don't mind 1-click buying for Kindle books but I HATE that you can't use your amazon reward points...instead I have to mail myself a gift card and then redeem it for a Kindle book. really?!!? When buying the gift card, you can't even email it to yourself...snail mail only in order to get it to work for digital purchases.

So my "60 seconds to download a book and be reading it" turns into 2 days and 60 seconds

That why I have mine set up not to do that.

If you remove your Cards from your account then readd them to the normal payment area of your Amazon account and don't designate them as default on your MYK page then you can't 1-click buy anything.

When you click the buy now button it takes you to a second page where you have to choose your Credit Card then click the continue button to finish your purchase. It actually two screens if it asks for your password first.

I just looked at my account and I've bought 2 books in the past week and both have the option of returning for a refund. That's awesome

When you login to your account, go to Manage My Kindle. In your Kindle Library beside the book you bought within the last week click the Action button, it should give you a drop down menu with:
› Deliver to my...
› Download & transfer via USB
› Delete from library
› Return for Refund

I buy from Amazon and have two monthly subscriptions from Harlequin and there are months where the same book that is included in the monthly subscription is one that I have ordered on Amazon, so I have to cancel the order on Amazon since they let you do it within 7 days and this has happened at least 5 or 6 times.

Thanks for posting this, Blossom. I don't think I would have noticed it for a while myself, since I rarely visit my archives page.

I've only returned one ebook (I thought the book was free and realized that wasn't the case just as I was one-clicking—oops!), but it was a bit of a bother to figure out how to request a refund. I don't intend on returning any ebooks in the future, but this will make it much simpler if I do need to.

I've done that a couple times before I turn off 1-click buying. I have only needed to return a book if it was messed up since then.

Thanks. I've returned 3 books over the years. I probably would have returned a couple more if it had been as easy as just clicking a few buttons.
