Mine is working great!

It is common that forums such as this focus on the problems associated with the subject device. So, occasionally nice to post some good news.

I received my Cybook on Monday and can report that I have had absolutely no problems and I like it very much. I only have .prc files and have placed bookmarks successfully, can turn multiple pages rapidly, battery seems to be doing just fine and have not had a single lock-up. Can't comment on the look-up problem as I don't have a dictionary.

All in all very pleased with the Cybook.

Didn't your cybook come with a dictionary installed? Mine had a few out-of-copyright books, a bunch of 'demo' books (the first few chapters) and a dictionary.

Yes it did come with a dictionary. Unfortunately, I harken back to the days when memory was at a premium, so I always delete, delete, delete. Got rid of all the demo books and the dictionary unfortunately went with them. Can you download from the Bookeen site?

Well, I don't know if you can just download the dictionary; I think they have the whole original package, for if you need to flash to version 538. However, Fictionwise has several dictionaries available in their free ebook section.

No. The folder structure needs to exist on the Cybook, either internal memory or the SD card (or both). The Cybook library just doesn't use the structure for organizing the display of the book other than how it orders the list.

Oh. I'm not a programmer and I figured if the folders weren't displayed it could only be that the cybook didn't use them. I won't ask why not...it's probably more complicated than it sounds.

Downloaded the one that is available here at Mobileread (the 1913 Websters). Works very well. Only looked up a few words to test, but no problems so far.

Yepp, the dictionary in my CyBook also was a demo.
Ah well, I had a few micropay dollars to blow, so I got the Concise Oxford English Dictionary and I love it - especially the "Word Histories"
Never used to look up so many words in a book I was reading

I can't look to see what dictionary I have since my cybook is *frozen*--I finally got them to say they'll give me a return number.
I don't typically look up words when I'm reading--but I'd like to, especially if reading old books like Dracula or Canterbury Tales and if it's just a matter of clicking a button.
Can a translation dictionary be used with a cybook, so that if you click on, say, a French word it would give the English definition?
