Has anyone beside me noticed how hypersensitive Apple folks are. Most when they have a product with a problem, complain a lot about it and tell stories about how they suffered. Apple people seem to need to find excuses or point fingers or be very quiet. |

If I have a battery explode, I'll be sure to complain a lot and tell stories of how I've suffered.

Actually I notice both behaviors from many different users of different products.

Maybe because "Apple people" are constantly bashed on MR? If you keep hitting a dog, it will start to shy away when it sees a newspaper.

It is very simple. Turn everything around. Have Apple users talk about the problem with Apple's products and platforms, and Android users talk about their problems. I myself could go on all day. While Android users tend to be very open about it, from Apple users you barely hear anything. Not that there are no problems (we have several Apple devices at home, I know personally and could also list many, many), it is that such matters are not being seen as problems or are easily forgiven. Apple users have accepted the shortcomings, while Android users demand improvements.

The issue is that people are insulting Apple *users,* specifically. I think that crosses a line and should be stopped. (And of course this applies to insults to all users). Quote:

Maybe they should stop saying it about Apple users because insulting users on MR isn't appropriate, regardless. Last edited by kjk; 12-02-2011 at 10:25 AM.

Whoa there. No need to get all personal here. Lots of non-Apple users have difficulties understanding why those who love their Apple products love their Apple products. I'm one of them. My 18 months old laptop has the same hardware in it that today's MacBooks do, but had a lower price tag when it was purchased. Naturally, I have difficulties understanding why anyone in their right mind pays more money for weaker hardware, and when they can't give me good reason for it I point and laugh. I also find it odd that these people are surprised that they're occasionally mocked for not being able to justify their purchase decision other than by telling me "it's an Apple,so it's better". But the most odd thing of all is when people who are smart, well informed, and who bought an Apple product after thinking it through and coming to the conclusion that it's the best product for them, lose all their smarts and react like unthinking iSheep when someone asks them to recap their thoughts on why they bought a Mac. It's almost as if asking them to prove that they're not among the KoolAid chuggers turns them into one. Very odd. |
