Niko, sign in to the Kobo website -- not desktop app -- go to my library; choose "purchased" this should show you all the ebooks that you have purchased from Kobo. Next to each book should be a button that says Adobe DRM ePub; click on this to download. When I do this the books open in ADE. You should be able to side load these onto your T1. There is no Adobe DRM ePub button for the public domain books that I have downloaded from Kobo but if you have downloaded public domain Kobo books you should be able to get them drm free somewhere else.

If you're referring to the Kobo website you need to download the book to your computer. In order to do that you have to have software installed on your computer for that express purpose. You can choose to use Sony, ADE or Calibre. Once you get it to one of those programs you can then connect your device to your computer and sync it or do the drag and drop method. You also need to know that some books you buy from the Kobo site are not downloadable to your computer. Some are only online readable books. Check that first. Is the book you bought an epub that you can download or not? If yes, then choose which piece of software you want to use to manage your books and download it from the Kobo site to it. Does that help at all? |

Try the following first, just to confirm ADE works as it should. Go to Kobo Books and save urllink.acsm to somewhere accessible, such as your desktop. Save, don't open. When that's done, start ADE. Drag and drop the acsm file from wherever you saved it into the ADE program itself. (Your reader doesn't need to be connected for this part, so just drag and drop into the ADE interface itself.) The book should begin downloading. If this works, then it's a file association issue and it should be straightforward enough to set ADE as the default if you wish. No need to uninstall anything. Just depends on your operating system. I know that when I used the Sony Reader Library software there was also an option to force itself as default, but I don't know about newer versions. Edit: you can't move books from the Kobo library software directly to ADE. Kobo's software downloads books in their special format so they can be synced easily with their own brand of ereaders. What you want to do is go to the Kobo site and look for that all important urllink.acsm file. Last edited by viviena; 11-20-2011 at 07:28 PM. |

If I go to the downloaded book in the Kobo Library and click on the "ADOBE DRM EPUB" it brings up a Window "Opening URRLink.ascm". If I then go to the "Open with ADE" option, this then brings up the downloaded book in ADE for Reading only. If I go to the "Save file" option, I can locate the URRLink.acsm in my downloads. Not sure if any of that makes any sense to you. I am using Windows 7, and I have the Sony Reader, ADE, and Calibre installed. |

Sorry if this comes across as patronising, but may as well cover all bases. When you go the 'Open with ADE' option and the downloaded book comes up, does it look like this? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/489911/MobileRead/ade_scr.png If so, can you click the icon in the top-left hand corner which I've circled in red? If you That should take you to a cover view of all the books you've downloaded via ADE. It will look something like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/489911/Mobil...de_lib_scr.png Could you confirm then that you see the downloaded book there? If you can see the book in ADE then it's in your computer. Go to Explorer (the one that shows you all your files, not the browser) and search for the book title. It'll be there.
Once you locate the file, connect your device to the computer and drag a copy of the file from your computer to your reader through Explorer. You don't need to save the file after you've selected Open with ADE because it'll automatically save it in the folder that ADE stores your books in. |

Following up on what Shopaholic said look for your books here - In Windows 7, look in the Documents library in the My Digital Editions directory.

Thanks to all who have helped me sort out this problem. Especially Shopaholic and viviena. I am now able to move the downloaded Kobo ebooks to my T1.
