Thank you. I thought at first that it hadn't worked, because after playing with the Sony software on the Mac, Calibre said the database was corrupted, so I'd just reformatted and copied all the books over again, which meant there were no recently read books. The title still said “recently added,” so it didn’t look any different from before. When I opened and closed a couple of books, they showed up in the list though, so it seems to be working as it should . |

Thanks. I can think of no special reason why it shouldn't, but it also worked perfectly on my Spanish language T1 + Windows x64 system. Now I have one reason (only one) to NOT look forward to a firmware upgrade (hehe) Greetings from sunny Spain. |

This hack behaves weird when you switch between a book stored in internal memory and another stored on the sd card. The last book you were reading only shows up if the current book is from the same memory source as the last.

But the behavior you see is the side effect of that extra query. You can make that trade off by removing the query that sets 'added_date = 0'. It will cause the current read to show up twice on the homescreen, but you won't have the book disappearing like that. | |

Could anyone post a screenshot of what the screen looks like after this amendment, please?

If you mean the Home screen of the PRST1 - it looks exactly the same as it did before. The only difference is which 3 book thumbnails display in the 'Recently Added' section.

Kolenka Can the same correction work on PRS-950? |

Ah, I see, so the three thumbnails will be a combination of the last three opened or added. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm not Kolenka, but the answer is no. The PRST1 has a completely different way of maintaining its books database than the older Sony models. You can get something similar on a PRS-950 (plus a lot more features as well) by installing the PRSPlus custom firmware. See the first Sticky in this forum. |
