Don't know if it's true, but there was a message on the Russian eBook site that the Firmware version of the Readers sold in Canada is different from the ones sold in the U.S.

Supposedly, the version is 1.0.01.03170 (as opposed to the version 1.0.00.08130, which is known in the U.S.).

Can anyone confirm or deny this information? Has any owner of a Reader legally purchased in Canada attempted to install any of the hacks?

It may just be a localization difference.
