I did pre-order the Kindle Touch SO, but I'm rethinking that now. I still have a couple of months to decide, but after my initial excitement, I have to say I'm disappointed that users aren't able to upload their own fonts, or to change margins/line spacing/indenting the way apps like Stanza can do so well. I love that feature of Stanza. and when it comes down to it, I'm still faced with the problem that my library is all in epub.

IF I was in the market for a device, I'd be most interested in the Kindle Fire, since it has the color screen good for magazine content. (Took you guys long enough.) However, the limited on-board storage with no expandable storage on the device is a turn-off to me. The Amazon material says the cloud storage is "for Amazon content only." I have a Nook Color, on which I not only read magazines purchased through Barnes & Noble, but magazines sold directly by the publisher that I sideload onto the device from their own websites, from CDs, etc. If I couldn't do that with the Fire, it wouldn't be of much use to me. |

Does anybody know if the Kindle app included with the Fire will have the "Read to me" option? That would be killer.

. I've never really been sure what the Kindle's TTS is supposed to be for - I can't conceive of anyone actually using it to listen to an entire book. Can you?

It just won't be "free" storage, which it will be for Amazon content.

I've had a crappy week so far but this big announcement from Amazon has me smiling again! I've preordered the Kindle Touch $99. I plan to buy the Kindle Fire at a later date. Hopefully for Christmas. I've seen so many good deals on ebooks on the other Special Offers K3 models I was starting to feel left out. I had planned to get a T1 but I love Kindle and I love Kindle Support so my loyalty lies with them. Especially now I can read my Library books on it. I have no need for two Readers anymore. The only negative for me are It's not as light as I wanted but it is smaller and thinner! Last edited by Blossom; 09-28-2011 at 04:37 PM. |

Where are you seeing that the browser has been removed? According to the webpage, there is a browser in every Kindle.
