My Nook is 'untouched' so should I?

My Nook color is original, out of the box original, and never been updated.
I bought it last Xmas....should I update the software? I am in Australia and can download off B&N I believe, but are there any risks I am unaware of and is the update worth the effort (I only read on books on it)?

I'm only updated to 1.2.0, but I did download the new one today. Haven't installed it yet. The B&N website lists what each new update contains, though, so you can see if there's anything of interest or benefit to you.

Well, without going back to read about it, I think the 1.2 update was to add the app store and full featured email.

Version 1.3, I believe, lets you delete the cookbook and something about magazines.

If you're just reading on yours, neither update would probably benefit you. I mostly just read on mine, too...or listen to an occasional audiobook...or watch an occasional movie if we're traveling.

There is a way to update and then revert back, I think.
