Not so far, but I can't absolutely guarantee that I wouldn't. I have quite often bought duplicate DVDs without meaning to. The reason is that I am mean and hardly ever buy them at full price. If you wait a couple of years they are normally heavily marked down. But then I happen to be in a shop and see that some DVD is £3, so I buy it. Then I get it home and discover it's a second copy.

Yep...But then I have done that with pbooks too. When they change the cover I have been known to do it. Finally got wise & check the date. |

I've only aware of buying an ebook twice. It was "Outliers" I bought it in PDB and Mobi. Then I lost the Mobi when fictionwise lost their MOBI license. Hey what about the option for forgetting that you bought the book and complained to customer service you did not buy the book. I've actually did this twice. Both times I was buying the book for my niece/child and forgot I did so. |

Sony book store also tells you have already bought the book. Baen does also, if you log in. |

If I got a book for free from Kobo and then sometime later bought it from Kobo does that count? I don't know if they still do it, but they didn't used to add a book you got free to your library. I had a coupon and saw a book that looked interesting so I bought it. When I added it to Calibre it flagged it as a duplicate. I hadn't read it yet so I guess that's an excuse at least. What's worse is that it was a single use coupon and I saw something else but couldn't buy it since I had already wasted the coupon. |

Only time I've ended up buying something twice was when I bought an omnibus that included a book I had purchased separately previously.

I love your polls - this one is definitely better than the bathroom poll! I chose the last option because I really enjoy your last options. And because I have ALMOST bought the same book more times that I care to admit. Due to procrastination, sheer luck, and my desire not to spend too much money I have somehow avoided the actual purchase. I have downloaded the same free book multiple times. When you shop around it pays to check your library before you purchase. Last edited by HarleyB; 09-15-2011 at 08:23 PM. |

Fortunately, Amazon reminds me when I've already purchased a Kindle book. However, one time I did purchase the same e-book twice—first, the .mobi version at Smashwords and a month or so later I bought the same book at Amazon. Oh well. I just deleted the Smashwords version from my Kindle and moved on. I am more careful now. |

 Otherwise, I'm such a dufus, I'm sure I'd have duplicates...maybe even triplicates LOL. | |

I've never bought two of the same book by accident but I have accidentally bought a book, I was seeing what the price would be with the coupon code applied and hit the enter key instead of using my mouse to click apply |
