My daughter used to wipe food on her face for some negative attention. But then, she was only two-years old at the time.

If an author can't be bothered to spell or punctuate correctly, then I can't be bothered to read his/her work. If they can't be bothered to learn and use their own language intelligibly, then I'm not going to waste my time trying to decipher their meaning. Laziness like that shouldn't be rewarded with either my time or my money.
That's my bottom line. |

Some typos I can forgive. But too many and I start to have problems. Anyone who is this blatant about not caring will not get any time/money from me.
I have really enjoyed one author who self-publishes, when I started reading I started with a prequel and really enjoyed it. So when I started catching up on the later timeline/earlier written books and found numerous typos, it really hurt my immersion. I have stopped reading the author completely - I have 1 or 2 books of his just sitting on my Kindle unread - because of this. Fortunately I know he improved and I know that he was actively trying to correct and republish the older works, so I can go back to him in a few months when that gets done. |
