Question Calibre/ePub Metadata
Sorry if I should have found the reply in the Manual/Forum: tried but didn't.

Is there a way to tell Calibre to pick the data from a custom column on conversion and add it to the converted ePub metadata? i.e.,

If the answer is to do a command-line conversion with custom params, or something, I would dearly like to know...

No, there isn't. custom column metadata is only set when you export a book from calibre.

Using the Modify ePub plugin with the "Update metadata" option will embed the custom column metadata in (I believe) the same way that saving to disk does.
