				Amazon Tablet news

Here is some more Amazon tablet hype. http://technology.canoe.ca/2011/09/05/18641856.html With those specs, 250 bucks is too much for me since I have no interest for streaming movies or music. I would pay 250 if it was 10" just to read comic books on it. |

All that article does it talk about the previous article. And how can an article like that mention the iPad or Playbook, but miss the obvious comparison, the Nook Color? And I really don't understand why people want to root the Amazon tablet, since it looks like the Nook Color has better specs if you just want an Android tablet cheap. |

The Kindle Tablet is shaping up to be a better Nook Color than B&N's attempt; mainly due to Amazon's complete media ecosystem. Lock it in and most people won't care. Give kudos to B&N for developing a great Android tablet for half the price. All the consumer needed to do was a simple and reversible hack. This holiday season will see at least 3 quality Android tablets in the $200~$250 price range: Kindle Tab, Lenovo IdeaPad, Nook Color. Great news for the average consumer. |

I won't be hacking the Amazon tablet. I think I'll be content with all it has to offer. If it has a good screen like the Nook and lighter weight, I'll more than likely "Add to Cart".

Like I've said before, if the Amazon tablet (whatever the name is going to be) is going to be as easily root-able as the Nook Color is, I'll happily upgrade. Of course, assuming that the screen looks and works well, and all that other jive. From there, I'll either sell off the Nook or give it to my younger brother, or something.

Yes, because it would compete with Amazon's own streaming video. Bezos wants to lock you in, not give you choices. If he wanted to give you choices, he would embrace ePub and Adobe's ADE.

The NC is only sold in the US and is, therefore, irrelevant to most of us. Amazon will, I'm sure, sell their tablet world-wide, and hence a comparison to the equally world-wide iPad makes more sense.
