A few of you said you would "upgrade your nook color" to the new Amazon one, if so why?

I don't know what I'm going to do. I need a new eInk reader - the screen on my K3 is all kaplooey.

I have the nook color but I'm really not interested in upgrading it to a different tablet, I hardly ever use it to read. I don't want to be charging my reader every night.

Still waiting for the actual announcement to make my decision.

Looks like Amazon is directly attacking the Nook color. What do you think, will you upgrade to it?

I like an e-ink display for reading. If I ever get a tablet, it will be in addition to e-ink, not instead of.

The only reason I want a tablet is for night time reading in bed. Right now I use my phone. In the day time I use my Kindle to read with it's much easier on the eyes.

e-ink or bust! Nothing beats that reading experience when you read for hours. I don't consider a backlit display device to be an e-reader. I have my iPad 2 for "other things."

I'm certainly interested if they use a revamped full featured Kindle app on it. If it's just their Android app, I'll pass. Amazon's the only place where I can buy the non-fiction books I'm interested in. So, it doesn't take much for me to pounce on it when released, if it's lighter than the NOOKcolor. I do liberate my ebook library, but I want to make use of Whispersync. This tablet may push me to buy the current Kindle in order to do so. Was really hoping for a touch one though. I just read the reviews from the future and most of them only scared me. Some even say about upgrade from e-ink which is just a horrible idea. The only reason I want an ebook reader is to spare my eyes. Otherwise I can read on my laptop or phone.

I am wondering if it is possible to buy previous generation when the new one is launched? Like, if kindle 4 is launched , will I be able to buy kindle 3 for a little while? just in case kindle 4 will be a downgrade

How was it before? Could you buy kindle 2 with kindle 3 already on sale?

Noughty, I don't believe the K4 will replace the K3. Amazon won't abandon eink.

I am interested in buying a tablet of some kind, and this price will probably be my turning point, provided it gets decent reviews, but there's no way I'm giving up my e-ink K3!

this is something, which I hear very often.
But for me it sounds very, excuse me, stupid.
Reading in the dark, without some light in the background, strained the eyes. So I always light the room a bit when I am reading. This not depends on the display.
If I would read on a LCD in the dark, I would strain my eyes twice.
