thank you all for trying to cheer me up.I managed to write something onto the eink directly,but it's very tricky to play with eink framebuffer. I can not update the display of eink without a screen blink which is what I want to avoid.

I still believe that we should donate something to the person who spend their time to create something useful for this device.

That's a nice thought, Vicinc, and I agree in principle. If someone finds a way to gather the funds and distribute them fairly I would contribute.

However, everyone who participates in this forum is helping others use their devices, and everyone who figures something out is helping themselves as well.

I don't know where we would start with the thank-you funds. Don't forget the people who gave so much of their time earlier in the eDGe's lifecycle -- I started to mention names but realized there are too many and I would be bound to leave someone out!

I thank you all, the people who have found hardware/software solutions and the people who have shared their experience with the eDGes, sometimes long past any personal gain through doing so.

lcd2eink 0.1.7 released.
added feature:long press app switch key to turn on/off the backlight of lcd.check "Capture after Pen Up" to trigger screen dump after wacom pen up.

how to use:
1.install lcd2eink;
2.launch lcd2eink;
3.long press app switch key will turn off/on the backlight of lcd;(I used to turn off the backlight when I'm reading on eink with the reader app running on lcd)
4.check "Capture after Pen Up" to trigger screen dump after wacom pen up.(In this way I can turn a page with a wacom pen swipe on eink and waiting for the updated display without having to press the app switch key)

it works on my pe,ermine 0.9,rooted.

lcd2eink 0.1.8 released.
added feature:avoid the "screen dump" toast.sorry it doesn't expedite the dump.

how to use:
1.install lcd2eink;
2.launch lcd2eink;

This is likely to be the last "new feature" release. I shall spend more time on reading and english learning hereafter.Thank you all for your encouragement.

Hi Javese,

I manage to fix my EE. I tried the new version and seems to work well now in the EE. Any hope to get the eink to show what you are writing? Perhaps would it be possible to send the dump to the library? That would allow you to use the pen. Except that annotation won't work if we need to rotate

Interesting stuff. Would love to see a youtube video of the app in action.

So do I understand correctly? A screendump of the LCD screen will be shown on the e-ink screen. Does this make webbrowsing possible in the sun?
One of the main disadvantages of the EE is the LCD screen that is impossible to read outside. Also you need the LCD screen for file selection etc..

Hi Javese,

Is it possible to map the left and right arrow of the eink side to taps in the left and right of the LCD? That would allow to use the kindle app a lot easier...

fgruber,it's good to know that you have got your EE fixed and the calibration now works on EE.I can't get the eink to instantly show what you are writing yet and I may not continue on doing research on it.You can use pen with "use wacom pen input" checked.I'm not sure I get your point about "send the dump to library".Every screen dump is a pdf file generated with picture.

yes a screendump of the LCD screen will be shown on the e-ink screen,and wacom pen touch on eink will be mapped to lcd,long press the app switcher key can turn off/on the backlight of lcd.

could it be possible to add the mapping to left right buttons as an option that we select? I think it would make a bit difference for kindle and ezpdf users
