I'm breathing a sigh of relief today (vision related)

All of a sudden I had the vision in my Left eye go blurry and had a dark spot right in the middle of my vision. So of course I was thinking the worse. It turned out to be Central Serous Choroidopathy Due to where it is (almost in the center of my retina) they do not want to do anything so I have to wait and see how it goes It looks like it should heal up on it's own. But through this I did realize one thing, If your vision suddenly changes get it checked out by an Eye Doctor Intermediately. I was quite fortunate, it could have been far more serious. |

Best wishes and hopes for a full and complete recovery. When I had to have cataract surgery in both eyes about 20 months ago, and the eye surgeon in question screwed up during the operation on the second eye, I was in terrible shape considering if any vision would be restored at all. Fortunately a couple of additional surgeries by a specialist brought things to right.

As you rightly say, any sudden vision changes should be examined professionally as soon as possible. Sometimes a delay can lead to permanent problems that could have been avoided with earlier treatment. | |

Both parents with serious Macular Degeneration. Beginnings of a cataract in left eye. Usual age related eye problems. Sigh.. I can't imagine not being able to read. Best of luck.. |

I am lucky, again. The two age effects compensate each other and I have an amazing eye sight. No need of any glasses. The eye doctor, oculist(?), says that I would be a fool to do anything. Thanks again, Goddess. Actually everybody in the family has glasses, including my two younger sisters. Only my grandmother by my mother side could read without glasses. Oh yes, my aunt Hildegarde arrived at 90 doing crosswords without glasses. I think ebooks are good for the eyes. Now that I am reading on the beach in full sun, with the Kindle, I can use the smallest font size and I enjoy the large page. It gives me a sense of abundance. |

I hope it heals fully and soon. Did they give you an Avastin shot in your eye? That kills off the bleeders and helps the blood settle out faster. Blindness sucks. We went to get our Florida driver's licenses yesterday. I could have faked it with the old fashioned eye chart, which I memorized long ago. But this was something in a machine, and I couldn't see a thing. So they took away my license officially. I still try to keep in practice by driving occasionally, once every month or so, to McDonalds. My one working eye is barely working. So beware out there on the streets of South Florida! |

One of my nightmares is that I will not be able to see well enough to read. I am glad that you are doing better and hope that it heals quickly.

Good advice Harry. I had a similar experience recently. Back in March I started noticing flashes on the edge of my right eye and increased floaters. I panicked thinking I was getting detached retina but the ophthalmologist examined it and determined it was not as serious. Anyway, get well soon! |
