I am about to take my Nook Colour on a long trip involving many trips through security in various countries. I am a bit worried about damage to either the battery or the gadget itself. Should I ask them to hand move it instead of going through xRay? Might be difficult with various language problems , hmmmmm.
Have any of you readers encountered this situation? doris |

Kingston says that airport x-ray machines do not affect flash memory:
http://www.kingston.com/flash/digitalmedia_care.asp The battery should be unaffected, though there are some security restrctions on large lithium batteries (larger than most laptop batteries, so you're fine there). http://tinyurl.com/3qth4hd http://studenttravel.about.com/od/pl...rtsecurity.htm has links to assorted advice on dealing with airport stupidity. |

No, it won't be affected. My iPad has gone through numerous security scanners.

My iPhone and Sony reader go through airport xrays around the world quite often.
NO issues. |

Nothing wrong with putting it through the X-ray. Problems can arise from jamming it into a carryon without proper protection, and from banging your carryon into things, like airplane seats as you are going down the aisle.

Odds are, some of the electronics in it are already inspected by high power x-ray when they are manufactured! That is the only good way to inspect area-array solder joints under such a chip.
