I trained my cat to come to me when I click my tongue. Seems like I should be able to do the same with my kindle. One click for next, two for previous page.

umm, the kindle 3 has a mic.. should be piss easy to setup.. why hasnt anyone done this yet ? :/

edit: some are looking into it going by forum threads hehe none seem to grasp it tho ?.. like one tongue click noise for page forward id never have to hold kindle again

Yeah, I think it does. It's down there at the bottom, next to the 3.5 mm jack.

Is there any concrete news of a Kindle 4 though? Whats the exchange policy going to be like for newly purchased Kindle 3s if it comes out soon?

is def a mic

Same as it always was... there isn't an exchange policy.
But if you're within 30 days of purchase, you can return it for a refund and use that money to buy the new version (or something else), like always.

Yes it does have a mic, I played with the diagnostics and
if you plug in headphones and turn on the mic it works.

With my luck, my interaction would be more of a Cheech and Chong "Dave's not here, man" type episode....or maybe a "Who's on first" conversation when I want to open a new book!!!!

I think it takes less energy to press a button than to grunt or do mouth stuff.

Before this get too weird...

Voice activation could be a godsend to someone who is physically impaired. I would never dream of making fun of that. I'm only poking a little harmless fun at those who have full use of all their appendages and still think they need something like this. But then again... everybody has different wants/needs. I think I should probably quit while I'm ahead.
