I don't think there's a way to tell how much karma is given. When you go into your user CP you can click on the name of the person who gave you karma and that will take you to their profile page. You can post a message there.

I read somewhere that when you get to 10,000,000,000 karma you get to choose what you come back as.

Only 9,999,501,042 before I get to come back as an evil planet-destroying robot. AWESOME!

It took me a looong time to break 10,000 then one day I just had 100,000 with no explanation as to why I received the Karma. I just assumed a moderator gave it to me.

More importantly, I'm coming back as a firefly -- you're butt is a flashlight. How cool is that?

I want to thank those who have partaken in this thread. I was having a pretty lousy day at work and this thread got me going and now I am full of energy.

Sad to think that a thread that really wasn't about anything ebookish could excite me and get me going so much. I think I learned more than I wanted to know about karma, the philosophy of giving it, and how does it make one feel to receiving it. But, it was very entertaining!

And it's tricky! I just sent 10,001 to someone on this thread, trying to mess up all the zeroes. But the system rounded it back to 10,000, so the zeroes are still there.
