MOBI to EPUB without modification

Hi,

I'm trying to convert a MOBI I purchased to EPUB, but I don't want Calibre to do anything with the formatting.

What would be the recommended settings for a straight conversion?

For example, since this eBook was purchased from Amazon, I know that the input device is "Kindle", but what would be the output device (Kindle again?)

Due to the nature of the conversion process, this might not be possible. Calibre will internally convert to an intermediate XHTML stage and try to preserve as much formatting as it can, but depending on what the input and output formats support, this might result in some loss of formatting. Your best bet is to try and see what happens.

Your output profile should be something that properly sets the parameters for the device you'll want to read on. I don't know what the best output profile for an iPad would be.

Get Amazon's Kindle for iPad app (or several other free ones out there) and you can read Kindle files on your iPad just fine without having to convert anything.
