Just wanted to add that regarding my problem, it looks like it's solved, but in an odd way. They agreed to give me $30 credit, to cover the fact that I had to rebuy one book at the full price (the one they refunded me the $1 on that I actually wanted) and give me another $15, I guess for not being able to get the other two deals. But it wasn't showing up on anything, so I was very dubious. But I just went to rebuy the guidebook, and it went through without charging me at all, so I guess I do have a hidden credit somewhere!

I'm satisfied, I guess, but it was harder than it should have been.

Go to any MP3 or Instant Video page and click on either "apply credit" or "check credit" (it's different on the various pages). There, you can see promotional amounts, not just the gift card balances.

OMG thank you, I've been trying to figure that out for the last couple days lol.

My thanks too! I should have remembered that, because I'd come across it (by accident) before, but I'd forgotten.

You do wonder, though, why they don't make that a bit easier to find.....Oh well!

I wish they would add it to the Kindle book pages (they are digital, after all) or just put it on the main gift card page -- and some people are seeing new pages on gift cards, where the individual can control them more (I'm hoping like you can at B&N, but I haven't seen the changes yet).

I plan to order a KSO 3G for $139 next Tuesday.(that's the day my $100 Amazon gift card is supposed to arrive, according to airline rep when I redeemed my miles)

Once I get my KSO, will I receive all the codes for all the current special offers? Or will I only get codes for offers that start on/after the day I register my KSO? Do the codes just show up on the KSO's screen?

You'll only get the offers from the time that Amazon registers the KSO on your account. And the way it works - every 4 days, just wake up your KSO first thing in the morning and they'll be there. Or you can hit Menu/View Special Offers. It's mysterious to me, your WiFi doesn't even have to be on at the time!

ETA: Next SO is on the 24th.

if I order the KSO, choose gift option, and register it with a different Amazon acct,
can the special offer codes that show up on the KSO be use on the original Amazon
acct that was used to order the KSO?

Your pushing the edge there. The offers are sent to the email account registered to the Kindle. Some have a link and some have a code and according to the terms, they are not transferable or the discount will be reversed. So it depends on how the email is used and whether you are caught.
