Technically, they are both correct, but my English teacher might mark my paper for not using standard American English, not because it's wrong, but because if I'm writing for a US audience, I should use Standard US English. If Im reading a British book, I'll start writing words in British standard for some reason and certain words, I always do, like realise. It's easier to type an "s" than a "z". If I do type realize it's because I'm using the iPad and it autocorrects.

I just realized yesterday that Im probably looking at the same anole every morning on my bamboo reading chair on the patio. He parks on the left front corner of the seat and shows off his red dewlap for a few hours.
