Macmillan Compass - Out of print books

This may be too much to hope for but... Macmillan Compass "Macmillan Compass launched a week ago, and will focus on making out-of-print titles available." The "launched a week ago" part must refer to Macmillan internally. I can't find a web site for it. "He said the process of talking to agencies had begun, with the imprint looking to partner rather than acquire individual titles: "It's not a selective process on our part . . . We would be talking to an agency and saying ‘we can make all your authors available who are out of print'." From TeleRead we have this; "It said digital pricing across all formats will be “competitive”. We'll have to wait and see. |

It seems that Random House is getting into the fray, although I can't get too excited about their direction. Still, it is good news all around. Random House revives Loveswept as an ebook-only imprint "Bantam’s Loveswept imprint was one of the most popular romance imprints in the 1980s and 1990s and now Random House is reviving Loveswept as an e-book only line that will release its first titles in August. The new imprint will be a collaboration between Random U.S. and Random House Group’s Transworld Publishers division which will let the company release e-books simultaneously in North America, the U.K., and the British Commonwealth." |
