The only Galaxy I have is a Galaxy S phone, my tablet is an Asus Transformer and I wouldn't really call it an overall PC replacement unless all you do is surf the web, do email and type the occasional word doc or spreadsheet. You can see my thoughts about the Transformer here... http://dearauthor.com/ebooks/review-...d-transformer/ Quote:
If were talking reading I'd go Kindle hands down.

Very cool. Is it stiff, or pliable? I doubt anyone would guess you have a Kindle in there, until you open it. |

uhh ... lestatar, how'd you get 1,655 posts and 1859523 karma in less than a month? Your OP said you're new at posting here, and I naturally glanced at your post count.

^ uh...I been kinda been asking myself those same questions Though I am certainly not complaining at all, especially about the Karma points [for what that stuff is worth]. As for the post count? Well, I have been extremely active in nearly all of the very fun word games over in the Llama Lounge, so... And yes, my join date is absolutely correct and legit. @maianhvk: That is one gorgeous looking K3 case - congrats! Not necessarily my own personal style, but man, I acknowledge cool stuff when I see it. Sweet! Enjoy showing that off And thanks so much for posting on this thread - again, pics like yours are exactly what I was hoping to see around here |

^ No clue exactly how karma stuff works on MR though I recall seeing a couple of threads which explained exactly how Karma works here. It's nice of course, and I am personally delighted/flattered to have some folks respond well to me and my posts, but that is not the reason I am here on MR. A shame, David, that people you helped didn't do the "right thing" with giving you some karma. I personally have been online since the dawn of time, but only actively participate in 2 forums - MR and another about mp3 devices. And I have only been active on the mp3 site for just over a year and a half. Interestingly, that other site eliminated their "karma" system altogether [they used "Reputation"]. But over there, reputation could also be submitted against users in a negative fashion. Here on MR, it seems karma is intended to be a light-hearted kind of thing, one that cannot be used negatively. Which I think is perfectly fine. I personally have also been quite free with "giving" out karma to people and posts that I like because they made me laugh or because I happen to agree with their opinion. It did bother me the other day when a thread from a developer with a particular utility got bumped, there was a fair amount of positive feedback and interest in the app, and I was the first person to give him karma. Karma can be fun, but I'd hope the community would want to encourage people like that to stay engaged with the community of users, and do so here, at mobileread. A little green "thanks" can be a surprisingly strong motivator for a small dev.
