History, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction and other: Alternate History. Romance, I can't stand, I find true literature usually boring, and I would put classics under Historical Fiction (hey, they were written long ago, in historic times!), not that I read a lot of classics...
Nb: there are always exceptions to the rules... |

Mostly sci-fi, some fantasy & historical/historical romance fiction. Forgot to select "other" for cooking & travel memoirs.

I had to tick "Other" for Adventure & Survial a la Les Stroud or Redmon O' Hanlon.

No horror option. =(
Not that I read a lot of horror, but I've been meaning to. Classics no doubt get a boost from their free-ness. Ereaders have probably introduced a lot of people to them, which is a good thing. I know I've been reading a lot of classics that fell into the "I should read that some day" category, since getting the ereader. |

Romance, Mysteries, Paranormal romances, Erotica. With an occasional Sci-Fi thrown in.
I'm betting a huge chunk of the Classic readers got them because they are free both monatarily & drm. I would never force myself to read something I'm not interested in for just those two reasons, or because they are "Classics". The few I was forced to read in school were more than enough. What do you call popular writers like Lisa See, Kathryn Stockett, Sara Gruen, Garth Stein, etc? I wouldn't call it literature. Contemporary fiction? That's what I read the most of.

I checked crime fiction, historical fiction, and other.
I like all kinds of mysteries, including cozies. I like fictionalized biographies and mysteries with historical settings, but not much else in historical fiction. The other category includes true crime. |

I'm a fairly omnivorous reader when it comes to reading, so I checked several. I also checked Other for my reading in the theory and practice of music.

I forgot to tick Other for true crime.
Looks like it's just us two for that, Catlady. That surprises me. |
