After being able to connect my eDGe using my 3G stick, I have even more reasons to leave my laptop at home. Having 3G makes the device more useful, as many android apps depend on an active connection.

I also just purchased a Chumby as Well, which makes sending news links a breeze. Chumby is a Linux based Internet alarm clock. Many apps for it support sending you links to your email address for further reading. Since I wake up to the alarm clock ane news feeds, I can quickly send over links of interest. I guess an android rss reader could do much the same, but I haven't found any I liked. Google reader is alright, but not really supported on this tablet. I just hope the 2.2 release has 3G support as well, as this feature is worth sticking with 1.6. |

I use NewsRob for Google Reader access on the edge and am quite happy with it. (Google Reader is my RSS feed reader on the laptop.)

I also just started using ReadItLater because it's built into Gravity (my phone's twitter client) and I usually wake up before hubby and catch up on the night's tweets while I'm waking up, but I haven't tried accessing that from the edge yet. But I know what you mean about leaving the laptop at home. The edge *was* my laptop for a few months when I was without a laptop, so I had to learn how to do just about everything on it and I was surprised to find how much I could do exclusively on the edge. |

I didn't realize you could use a 3G USB stick with the eDGe. What type did you get and what did you have to do to get it to work? I've been pondering buying a mifi device but the 3G sticks are much cheaper

I had the 3G stick for awhile, but my SIM had a PIN enabled, which the eDGe cannot use. After removing the PIN, the eDGe happily saw it and connected. Much faster than my ISPs clunky PC/Mac software too.

![]() Someone should create a 3G stick compatibility list. |
