Very cool. I read most of the books that came out from the Zahn trilogy on, until they started coming out faster than I could read them.
So it's been a few years since I read any...might be fun to revisit...see what's up with this Ben Skywalker person I've been hearing about.... |

I've been an avid collector of the novels since 1994 (which that first decade or so was a pain at times; no webstores like amazon.co.uk or .de selling the books to the Netherlands with a. reasonable prices and b. reasonable shipping times. I usually had to beg friends in the States to mail them).
I only really care about the post- Episode IV era, thought. No prequel-novels for me, and while I'm still faithfully following the Fate of the Jedi series, I really wish the authors could somehow find a way to fit in more books in the period between IV and New Jedi Order. Luke married and with kid just isn't my thing... I like him young! I'm debating whether or not to buy some of the Kinle backlog. At first I was thrilled at the news, but I'm sure they'll be more expensive for European buyers, and I already sort of have all of them, anyway, so... not sure if it's worth the money. |

Dallista-you mean you have the dtb copies, right?
I have 3 shelves, double stacked, of Star Wars books. I also have everything not in the original 32 available, from scanners and such. I'll be replacing the bootlegs with legit copies as I get the money. I want the starwars books to keep on coming. |

I could only find 78 on my book shelf, but there may be others hidden about.
Due to budget constraints, we usually waited for the paperback to come out, but not always. As soon as we bought our ebook readers, and they became available in ebook format, we never bought another paper book. This doesn't include the 15 ebooks we've purchased, which brings the *found* total to 93. ![]() My apologies for the quality of the the photo. It was taken with my phone and I couldn't figure out how to focus on all the titles. |

I'm with Dallista,
I haven't bought or read any of the books that take place in the Episode 1-3 Era. Wetdogeared, that is a nice collection and looks strikingly similar to mine. However mine are scattered around in boxes, some are on loan to my brother, etc. I will definitely be buying some of my favorites as soon as they are available but I can't afford, at $8 each, to buy them all just yet! I kind of wish they had done some omnibus editions. Why not give us the trilogies as one ebook? Jedi Academy Trilogy, Thrawn Trilogy, Corellian Trilogy, Dark Nest Trilogy, etc. I am not complaining though, whats coming on June 28th is better than what we have now, haha. |

I stopped reading the Star Wars books when the Yuuzhan Vong war series started...just couldn't get in it.
I would love to have the X-Wing series in ebook format. If priced right I might just give the Star Wars book universe another go! Great news! Thanks! |

Eh, dtb? *googles* Dead tree books? Yes, that's right. *looks at the shelves* 32 hardcovers, about 65 paperbacks, 20-ish young adult novels and dozens really bad kiddie books. Plus everything that's not on the shelves, like a couple of dozen Dutch (and German, French, Spanish, Italian, even Japanese) translations of Expanded Universe novels... and countless non-fiction books, but I'm mostly into the novels.
And speaking of SW e-books... can anyone explain this to me? Back in January, I pre-ordered SW: Conviction, the new FotJ novel out today (!). This morning at work, I received an e-mail from amazon saying the book had been delivered to my Kindle, and sure enough, there it was. But when I go to the book page on amazon.com, it says the book is not available to customers in Europe. I checked last week, and it said so back then already, too. I can NOT buy this book, even though clearly I did this morning (paid for it, too, ha). There is no Buy button on the page for me, no pricing info etc. Is this normal amazon behavior? Suddenly realizing that a book shouldn't be available to Europe, but not changing the existing pre-orders? Seems rather... odd (never mind the fact I think it's stupid that I wouldn't be allowed to buy a SW book!). And... it's just asking for piracy, isn't it? If they hadn't sold me that book this morning, guess what I could be doing right now? ![]() |

ah, this rocks!
i read a bunch of these back in the day ... favorites were the Thrawn trilogy, the Crispin Solo Trilogy, the first 8 or so Rogue Squadron books (yub, yub!) ... the bounty hunter compilations were interesting too. the Lando books were ok. Black Fleet books were good. in hindsight - i really didnt care for the new republic jedi books, young or not. they just seemed to get too whiny and well, emo. note: i quit reading the Star Wars books when they killed off Chewbacca. i'm not even sure i finished that book. |

Oh, those X-wing novels were great, and so funny! I loved Stackpole's books, but Allston's just had me in stitches most of the time. I had a huge crush on Garik "The Face" Loran! And Wedge, of course. And Tycho. And... I'm gonna shut up now.

![]() p.s. Just an aside...We came out of some kid's movie recently...can't recall what...and there was a surprisingly long line waiting for the next showing. I yelled "Darth Vader's his father!" That got a few laughs from the geekier parents in line. Last edited by ApK; 05-24-2011 at 01:02 PM. |

Even my wife liked those books. She kept encouraging me to write a love story involving Piggy the Gamorrean.
