Favorite non-Amazon or BN eBook Store?

I did a search and didn't see this posted, though I didn't look at all of the 100+ unrelated things that came up. Which store do you buy from the most? I exclude the two big ones because they seem obvious. Mine: Smashwords Kobo Books EBooks Media |

Smashwords definitely, Fictionwise at one time, but I haven't bought anything there lately.

Baen's Webscription if they had broader selection (I only like MilSF up to a point; wish Subterranean had stuck around and Tor had come to that deal they were going to make; but at least Night Shade is still there and Baen've been doing up classic sf bundles). Kobo if they had better US/Canadian comparative pricing (nasty habit of using the Canadian print price as their base digital price and then taking off the discounts) and more frequent nice coupons. Fictionwise if they actually sent me the darn newsletter with the new releases announcements and the coupon deals and stopped randomly deleting MultiFormat stuff from their catalogue for what seems like no visible reason. And also brought back Micropay and the BuyWise membership at reduced prices to apply perhaps only to select qualifying ebooks now that they've purged all the Agency titles. Smashwords if they had more backlist authors, better organization, and a way to delete all those pesky free-with-coupon-now-you-can't-get-rid-of-it low-quality reads you don't want to have cluttering up the library. BookViewCafé if they had the occasional sale/more bundles and discounted a few of their books and kept their serialized versions up slightly longer to allow the slow/busy reader to catch up. But that's a minor nicety since they seem to be doing almost everything else right: multiple downloadable formats, read in full online, good selection of backlist authors, lots of free shorter stories to try. I suppose the BVC must rank closest to my favourite. |

Baen (free library), Kobo (when there is a free deal with coupon), Smashwords, probably in that order, if judging by the amount of content I've obtained from each.

Kobo, because of the coupons. I had never shopped at Fictionwise till last week, when I went a bit nuts with their 60 percent off coupon.

Only Books on Board. I don't want to spread my purchases between several stores in case I have to redownload (haven't had to do that yet). And, with one exception which is ONLY available on Amazon, BoB has everything I need. (As far as the one exception, I won't buy from Amazon) AJ |

Kobo, as they seem to have the best range for Australia and their regular discount coupons make the pricing attractive. BeWrite books has caught my attention recently. They have an interesting selection, DRM free, reasonably priced and the epub file quality is first rate. |
