Dixie and Tim, the very best wishes for you from me, too. I'm glad that you're alive. I was really shocked when I opened this thread this morning and read about all the devastation.

@ DixieGal I am stricken by grief for you and Tim. It is just scratches on you, but all the troubles that you have ahead of you, what you have lost ... It is not only money, the love you put in your new bathroom... A big hug from me.

DG please let us know if we can do anything. I am sorry for your property loss, but more grateful than anything that you're OK.

Pooh, are you ready to duck and cover? We've already had some incredibly heavy rain and high wind as DGs storm is heading our way.

We had storms moving through all morning - keeping an eye out here too. Haven't seen Goldie Cat since last night (she is terrified of storms and hides under the bed or dresser). Going to be a rough day here.

Willow (our tabby rescue) is also terrified of storms. We flooded a few years ago, so now she equates heavy rain with all sorts of bad things. She was under the bed before i left the house at 5:30 this morning. Chapel Hill was getting pounded by then, but its been pretty quiet here in RTP since then. Lots of wind, but no real storms yet. Tons of lightning and high wind in CH pre 5:30am though.

It did - but not as badly as Alabama. May have power out though.

snow. not right here, but certainly on the mountains and in many other low lands. if I were in Colorado or New Mexico I would certainly not be surprised, but not here. and! we were required to take our studded tires off last week

A quick note from the restarant where we are eating our first food in 24 hrs. We can't get back to our property because they are still using dogs to search for people and bodies. Going to get a rental car next. We don't have cell or internet where we are staying.
