I'm debating whether to get the official kindle cover and would like people's opinions on them, and also if the lighted one is worth the extra cost? Have the fixed the previous issue with the covers? |

Covers have been discussed many, many times here. My personal opinion is that the official cover is worth it and the lighted one is worth the extra cost. It's very well done, has professional look, smells nice , fits really well, the light is useful when reading in bed (it can double as a flashlight if necessary). It can protect your Kindle if it falls. There were some reports of issues with non-lighted covers, but my unlighted cover didn't have any issues. Finally, I decided that I needed a lighted one so I upgraded. No issues with this one either. |

I have no issue with my not-lighted official. However lighted one should be worthed the extra cost (if you're planning to use Kindle in that way often enough)

You should probably get the lighted one, it is a good quality. I believe the unlighted one is no longer available.

The lighted cover is extremely sturdy, and excellent protection for the Kindle. I never regretted the extra cost.
