Cats and water are weird...

My cat came in the other day, stinking like cow manure. It turned out all his four feet were covered in it. So, I brought him to the bathroom, took an old towel, made it moist under the tab and used that to clean his feet. He acted like I was putting him a full tub of water! I regularly dry his feet if he's been outside in wet weather and he loves me doing that. The only difference: drying feet is done with a dry towel, clean feet with a moist one...

I've had a million cats. (and a million scratches) They all hate water. My last cat had a flea infestation and needed a flea rinse so I went to the hardware store and bought the longest, toughest, rubber clad canvas gloves I could find. THEN . . . I washed the cat. (Successfully - long ago now - I like the wildlife we now have - and the scratches I don't)

Hmm, he doesn't mind water that much. Using a squirting thing doesn't work against him. He'll look at you: again! Please! And he'll go in the showerstall even when he's been dripped all over by the remnants of water in the rain shower we have... But they all hate water that will be used to clean them!

Not true! My first used to sit on the rim of the bathtub and pat his paw vigorously onto the water to splash me! When I squeak he sort of beamed and tried again and I splashed a little water on him, too, which he didn't mind the least bit. Big fun for both of us!

You're right though, not all cats hate water, a lot like to play in it like you mentioned.
