Woot! I'm at 30 books now. That's far more than I managed by this time last year.

Cool

8.333333 books a month seems like a lot but thats only about 2 a week. Of course it does depend on how fast you can read, too. I'm thinking about taking up this challenge! I'm a fast reader and I think I could do it. Anyone else taking it up?

It's not so much about how fast you read, as to how much time you spend reading. I do so much more than read in my spare time.... including the time sink called MobileRead. I seem to read about 1 book a month, so I know there's no way I could meet this challenge.

I'm doing this not so much to actually read 100 books in 2011, but to see how many I do read.

I read 30 books (plus as many short stories) in 2010, so my goal for 2011 is 31.

I started the challenge for this reason as well, and at first I never thought I'd reach 100. But now that I see how much I have read so far, I think I'll make it.

It's a fun challenge, and I've noticed it encourages me to read more. Like in the evening, when there's nothing interesting to do or see. In the "past' I used to watch television anyway. Now I read a book

I've taken to read while watching TV. I find I can follow along both pretty well. And I can read while there's not much happening on screen.

I'm at 32 books now, but after getting Dragon Age II (RPG game) my reading rate has gone down the drain. Too much time spent playing instead of reading.

What I plan on doing is to try to take at least 39 minutes a day for reading. I'll see how that goes.

You should look how much pages a books have too. When you read only books with 150 pages you are fine. But when one or two books have more than 1000 pages you are behind in your reading, because it is much longer till the end of the book.
