Yea its a well known old technique in the macro world. Basically the lens in front (attached with a special ring that has a filter thread on both sides) is a 50mm 'normal' lens found on film cameras and when attached in reverse onto a telephoto lens it acts like a powerful magnifying lens! The lens attached to the camera is a dedicated 100 mm macro lens that is already designed to focus very close, to get 1x magnification in fact. Basically that used to mean that the image on the film negative is exactly the same size as the object being photographed. But when i attach a 50mm lens in reverse I get 2x magnification. (100/50=2)
