Ah! now that would be the solution. I did try converting from ePub to ePub in Calibre, though I thought it was a long shot. However they emerged with the same problems.

Calibre will not rescale the problematic pictures. You have to do this by hand.

I removed the covers as I thought they were creating the problem. After that, I could actually navigate to the page in the library containing the books (before removing the covers the Cybook would reboot when I tried to navigate to that page), but it would restart as soon as I opened the book. Do you have any suggestion as to what modifications I should make for the books to work? Thanks | |

If you like your Cybook you will probably want to have a look at the Italica Reader. It is also a Netronix reader, but the 2009 version that comes with 128 MB RAM. In case you don't like the Italica firmware it is possible to flash the Cybook firmware. The Italica is down to 99€ now, which is a joke compared to what I paid for it last year! It is a very nice reader!

Take it as a fact. You can only upgrade your own firmware but you can't use any firmware of all the other Netronix EB600 clones. I guess only the Hanlin devices allow using firmware from other developers. Or as Forkosigan put it once: Then all people would buy cheap readers and copy excellent Pocketbook firmware on it. |

[QUOTE=fani;1433598]Hi emhornbee, The solution for me was to go back to Mobi. I used Calibre to convert all my epub books to mobi and everything seems to work fine now. Sure it's not the best solution but buying a new ereader so soon is not an option for me and this gives me the ability to continue buying ebooks and reading them on my Cybook. That's what I've done now. Imported the titles into Calibre and converted to Mobi. I can't justify buying a new reader . After all the problems getting titles in Mobi, the value of the books I've been able to read comes nowhere near the cost of the reader. Everything's working fine now. |

Something being 'obsolete' seems a common occurance in today's world. By the time most things reach the open market (stores) the next newest units are either on the drawing board or pre-production, or so it seems now days.
