Woman with a man's appetite here. I'll eat pretty much anything you throw my way. (So now you know why I ride my bicycle a lot and take the dog on long walks in tough terrain.) |

This raises some interesting questions in my mind. What sort of people participate in forums like this one? What sorts of people will post in forums such as this one?

We had tripe and testicles already - how much worse can it get?... (Also, I still wonder if the horrors/rumors about sausages are true at all. Much of the junk parts can be sold elsewhere after all. Of course, that depends on regional law as well.) | |

The only packing plant I have been in made hotdogs, and the saying that everything including the lips and the arse holes are included I think that any parts that can safely be eaten but are not sold as they are, are put in as scraps. Could be worse, my father grew up eating lard sandwiches, not much more disgusting than that. |

1/4 inch thick slice of lard ( pigs oppustet) on toast? Nasty.

I'm quite happily comfortable at the top of the food chain. total omnivore here, but a picky one! I don't like organ met either, but do enjoy a good herbed leberwurst. when hunting I always have the venison liver in the field, but gag on beef liver. I can't even STAND the smell of tripe! I'm also quite happy with an occasional completely vegetarian meal. lots of fish in my diet as well. the only hotdogs I'll touch are the kosher ones

I'm a meat eater, but nothing icky. I like sirloin steaks, pork loin, chicken breast, generally whatever is most expensive. I won't eat ground beef, but get ground sirloin and mix in butter to make the yummiest steak burgers. At some restaurants in central Europe last fall, we noticed lard and toast on the appetizer menus. And fries are not worth eating if they are cooked without trans fats. Taters cook best in lard. |
