Just wanted to see how many mobilers are vegetarian or omnivores? This is a fun poll not one for arguing which diet is better. With more and more people becoming vegan and vegetarian I wanted to see how many are on this site.

Anthony Bourdain quote: "Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. The body, these waterheads imagine, is a temple that should not be polluted by animal protein. It's healthier, they insist, though every vegetarian waiter I've worked with is brought down by any rumor of a cold. Oh, I'll accommodate them, I'll rummage around for something to feed them, for a 'vegetarian plate', if called on to do so. Fourteen dollars for a few slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini suits my food cost fine." From Kitchen Confidential, p. 70. |

I eat everything eatable, like things you find in restaurants. Not much ethnic food, that is how they call in Italy everything that is not Western European. So in France where I go often I very seldom eat North African food that is very common there. I do like Chinese food, but not in Italy for reasons that I am not going to explain. My diet is mostly vegetarian, but for health reasons, not ideological ones. Although, I am slowly turning more sensitive to a vegan way of seeing the whole thing, not only eating. So maybe some time from now I would vote very differently. |

One step removed from cro-magnan. Vegetables are the chaff to a good meal, a necessary evil. |

testicles are not common here at all. Never had them actually, but I would not see any problem. tripe, is that the way it is called chez vous mister? that is a main staple. I like it. I haven't found a way to cook it that I did not like. I do not cook it anymore because my wife cannot stand even the idea of it (a woman of the first kind, let it be clear, well after all those talk on MR soap opera show). I do not particularly like the sausage that they make with it in the South of France, andouille. She likes that. That could mean that is the idea of the tripe that she cannot stand and seeing it as such. Not a big problem, not a problem at all. Happy mood recovered. Over out. |

I have tried everything that anyone has asked me to, some I liked (deep fried grasshoppers) and others I didn't (tongue, lung, liver...organs) the one I didn't like, I'll not try again, no point

I don't think I qualify as a real meat-eater but also not as a vegetarian. I only eat chicken and turkey. In very small quantities. Sometimes pork, maybe once every month with a wok dish. Fish twice a week. A vegetarian dish once a week. But don't ever force me to eat red meat or any kind of organ meat, because I will be sick. Quote:
I've never heard about tripe before. Maybe I'll google it when I feel a little more courageous.
