Neutered by Auto-Nooter!

Hey all. I had updated to 1.0.1 and then subsequently 1.1 . I wanted to root again, so I used the new auto nooter.

However, now it won't connect to WiFi!!

Anyone seen this happen with theirs?

no I did the same and I have found the wi-fi even more stable than before I rooted it..so i'm rather happy

Wow, that kinda negates the whole rooting thing....I was just about to plunge !!

If you're referring to your home wifi try rebooting the router.

No, this is not a common problem report. Did your problem resolve or do you need troubleshooting help?

One issue with 1.1 (stock and rooted -- it's not a rooting issue) is that with some people's wifi APs, wifi on 1.1 Nooks do not automatically connect after wake from long sleep (*). Turning the wifi off and then on always fixes mine. (tap on the bottom notification bar in the right corner (where the wifi icon would be), then toggle off and on).

If that's not your issue, you can try rebooting (wifi ap and Nook). Also, if the wifi network is in the saved settings, try forgetting the connection and re-entering it.

Worst case, you can reset to stock and re-root.

* What's interesting is that BN seemed to fix some people's wifi unreliability with 1.1 and break others'.

Yea. sat down about an hour ago to figure it out since I had some time.

I don't think it was directly related to the rooting process. I had downloaded and installed Zeam successfully, but had to drop the device and run for some errands.

Came back about three hours later, and couldn't get the con. Then I noticed that Zeam hadn't actually been installed or downloaded, seemingly.

Completely wiped and started over.

Noticed that I used 2.12.25 (since when do Technologists make stupid mistakes?)

Updated to Nooter 3.0.

Connection worked- though I did reboot the router while I was clearing device software. Did that anyway after seeing I'd mistakenly used the wrong disk image. I mean, come on... 2.12.25 and 3.0 look SO similar!

Anyway, could have been the patch F up or could have been the router. All's good again. Sideloaded 1.1 just now and preparing to root with 3.0 this time.

Well, you might have had the correct one. GMPower redid the 2.12.25 autonooter to work for the 1.1 BN software and posted it provisionally as '2.12.25' as well (just via a different link). He did so because he assumed the original poster of 2.12.25 for 1.0.1 would update it and he didn't want to usurp an 'official' update. But after a few days of no response from the original poster, GMPower re-released it as 3.0 to help minimize confusion over just this issue.

So, who knows? You might have had the right one. Clear as mud?

Wifi's working. I'm on 1.1 rooted all good to go. Looking for my comic readers and other apps to sideload.

Ok, can't download from the marketplace. My downloads just hang and say Starting download...

However, I was able to download my magazines and BN books with no problem. Trying a couple of things and will report back soon.

To add a new twist and confusion to the story, GabrialDestruir has finally spoken up and said there will be an official 3.0 release.

Oh wow! That IS going to confuse a lot of people. I wonder if they'll get shortcuts and folders to work on Zeam with this release? Or is that an issue with Zeam itself?

My one major gripe about being rooted is that I can't add books to the desktop or launch bar at the bottom of the screen. I still have to go into my library.

My results however, have been fantastic. I was signed in to GTalk, but I hadn't launched YouTube. Once I launched YT and accepted the terms, the downloads worked perfect.

I'm happily rooted once again.

Oh, and lastly, sorry for the late response. I had to pick up my suit for Casino night and a bunch of random errands popped up.

I did however, turn 600$ into 3800$ at Roulette in two hours. Not bad playing for real for the first time =O
