Have NAEB really got to wait to get 1000 orders before placing their order with Bookeen? That could take quite a while!

According to the latest eMail from NAEB:

Code:

The seller has provided the following Shipment Tracking Information for your review:

Shipping Company: Shipping in 30 days as noted to the customer
Shipment Tracking Number: 005

The seller has provided the following Order Status information for your review:

Order Status: Shipped

This is telling me that I should be getting it in a little over 30 days.

I am order #71 and I have no such notification. I have only received a confirmation email after my order and it simply stated my purchase/shipping/payment info and my order id. I do believe the store frontpage states that they will only put in an order to Bookeen in batches of 1000 units. If they can't get a 1000 units, they will refund any purchases.

Order count as of this post time is 59 units. You can not trust your order number because there were test payments and orders which failed to go though, both of which increment the stores order number.

Bookeen has agreed to help NAEB ramp up sales so we do not need the entire 1000 to get going.

We will be getting between 100-300 units at the end of January depending on how sales go, with the remainder in February.

I'm not sure where that ship in 30 days came from. Rlauzon can you forward that email to shop@naebllc.com please.

The mail originated from paypal.

Yeah-well, Paypal has ideas and insists upon everything being shipped within 30 days or less, preferrably 20 days or less. We should be able to ship the first orders before the end of the month - presuming rules issues with Paypal have been resolved by then. By first I do not mean all 1,000 but a subset of that number, I'm thinking that the first fifty to hundred paid orders we should be able to get shipped out. This IS subject to change based upon what happens with orders Bookeen has placed with its suppliers... (I've got my fingers crossed that this will be subject to change in the sense of MORE units will be available, but I have been known to be wrong before.

Jim,

Why don't you post the number of "test payments and orders which failed to go through" so that we know the number to subtract from the stores order number to see where we are in our move toward both the initial shipment order of 100-300, and the full order of 1,000.

I guess many of us are keenly interested in seeing NAEB succeed as a buyers club for the Cybook Gen 3.

Yes. Right now we're at 59+ REAL orders - not the 77-79 I thought we had. We had about 20 'test' orders we had to run through our system.

Yes, we'll probably be ordering from Bookeen in 'piecemeal'. That will speed up the delivery time for those who sooner.
