Is there a way to do them on the 650? I've seen a few posts where the images attached look like screen grabs (print screens) but I can't figure out how to do it. It took the PRS+ hack to be able to do it on my 505.

Its available as part of the Boroda/Porkupan hack for PRS650. You can read more about it in this thread (post #4 onwards). The details are on the Russian ebook forum.

I've read in a thread somewhere that it shouldn't affect battery life.I didn't have any bookmarks set so I had none to lose. I didn't lose any books, but I only had a handful loaded. The only notes I had were the samples that came as standard. They're still there, so no, they weren't lost. Nor were the standard image and audio files. I did do a backup of the whole machine before I loaded the hack. Luckily I didn't need it afterwards. |

Nope! I was all over the hacking with the 505 and PRS+ (just as I do with my Kindles). I like navigating the the touch screen but I hate swiping for page turns (even the little thumb swipes). Now I have the Options key set for page forward and the normal page back key. This makes me very happy!

Now to resurrect my old CSS for my Fontin font.

So how is the battery life on the 650 with this modified firmware?

I don't know. I haven't had it long enough to tell you what battery life before the flash. I've not fully charged it since the day I brought it home 2-3 weeks ago and I'm just reading my first book on it. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

I've been using the boroda firmware 1.03d for about a month now. I will typically recharge the battery sometime after it hits one bar and that usually takes about one week. I read about 1-2 hours a day and do a full shut down before bed each night. Standby is used between short reading sessions during the day.

I don't know if the clock on the new Readers makes a difference in battery life as the clock changes regardless of whether the page is changed or not. |
