And BTW I've owned every Sony reader except the 500 and 700 and I think Sony sucks at software and customer service. So there.... Last edited by dreams; 12-09-2010 at 11:40 PM. Reason: personal attack edited by moderation

S, I believe that your recent postings have been directed against Sony. My only point is that perhaps you should cut Sony a bit more slack inasmuch as you are now more favorable in another direction. So, my posting was not pointed at you as much as it was intended to be supportive of Sony...who I feel is overall doing a good job. |

It's ok. Let's squash it and move on. Sometimes our fingers get the best of us in our postings. It's easy to say stuff that wasn't meant to be taken a certain way.

Thanks for the classy wrapup! And hopefully you'll rejoin the Sony fold at some point as your knowledge level is appreciated.

My Sony library didn't update and it tells me there are no new updates available. I think they were just adding functionality to the store itself. Not ever update is to add functionality that's in a user's face. |

The changes appear to be in the Reader Store. The improvements are nice. Minor incremental changes, not big leaps, I'd say. Here's what I've noticed so far. 1) They appear to have focused on better book descriptions. If you place your mouse over a book cover, then it will bring up an info box with the book summary, category, price, rating, etc. That feature reminds me of the Kobo website. I like it! Now I don't have to click all the way to the book detailed page for a quick summary of what the book is about. 2) I have always found Sony's rating/review system to be a disappointment because people just don't use it. They now have a link to goodreads on each book page. 3) Have they always had facebook and twitter links? I think they may have, but I can't remember. 4) Google Books and Library Finder are no longer prominently displayed on the home page. They are now in the Featured Links in the left column. 5) They have a nice Reader marketing page now. Links to support, tips and tricks, Google Books, Library Finder, accessories, how does it work, etc. When you click "Get Your Reader Now" it launches the sonystyle website. |

Never really had any problems with the Sony Site... I do get a little tired watching that little "spinny thing" up in left hand corner... Plus with my connection seems that it takes forever to load... But I guess that's my problem... All and all I guess it does what it's supposed to do... And it's nice there's some fine tuning going on. |

People seem to either love or hate the Sony software. There aren't too many moderates. It also seems to work well with some computers and not so well with others. I really like it and take full advantage of its syncing features and collections to manage my library. It reminds me of iTunes. Then again, I've also been using it for nearly four years. I know what it was like in its earliest form, which was very basic and extremely slow / unstable. It has come a LONG way since then so my perspective is a little different than most people.

And, the library info link refers to the 300/600 models of the Reader Pocket & Touch editions...
