rebarnmom- I'm surprised by this. Did they say the $130 coupon was an error?

The $130 reward value is supposed to have something to do with the Sony rewards program, and $75 is the value of the coupon.

We can't complain TOO much, seeing as how this credit coincides with their very unexpected price drop. I imagine they're feeling the heat from the Kindle and Nook, given Sony is a bit pricey, but it happened so soon after the new model launches.

I'm much too attached to my 505 to trade it in, but I will likely upgrade to either the 650 or 950. I'm still trying to decide!

Since my PRS-700 cost me CA$448.00* + CA$34.00* for an A/C charger + CA$118* to extend the warranty by two years = CA$600* just two years ago**, the offer of CA$75.00 for a trade-in is bit hard to swallow and it makes me a tad angry. *price includes taxes **with no firmware upgrades |

Well, I'm a Sony Rewards member, but I don't have a Sony Rewards credit card. Is that what you are talking about? If I had a Sony Card, the reward would be $130? The point rewards and price discounts ARE better for those who have/use a their Sony Card.

They are bringing in more money if you sell them on eBay, but I didn't want to go that route (and I do a lot of selling on eBay). I guess I'm just leery of selling electronics. My out-of pocket cost for my 700 was not that much as I used a great deal of Amazon rewards certificates that my husband acquired from his business credit cards. And I can truly say that I got my time & money's worth out of it. The $130 would've been a lot nicer, but I'm not one to argue. I should've let my husband make the call. He's much better at that sort of thing!

Can anyone tell me if you have to be an american citizen to be able do a trade in in the store? I'll be in florida in december and it would be great if I could trade my 500 in for the 650. |

I also received the email for the $130 trade-in credit for an old Jetbook Lite. I wanted to see if my local Sony Style store would honor it, but they said they couldn't use ecoupon codes there, and none of the 3 display models even had power so I couldn't see which one I wanted, so I wrote a complaint email to Sony. Today I decided to try using the code online, got the $75 discount on a $180 (after student discount) PRS-650, and talked to Live Chat customer service about the difference between the $130 in the email and the $75. I asked if Sony would honor the price in the email, and they offered me $125 off, so I ended up with a $60 (after tax) PRS-650.

Excellent deal Zoshka! Sony seems very confused about this coupon offer! CustomerCare stated I would receive a $55 credit on monday. No $55 yet, but I did receive a second coupon with $75 value! Since I purchased the 350 as a gift, I'm thinking of purchasing a 650 for me. |

I also received a second coupon for $75. When trying to use it, I received a message saying the coupon has already been used. In my case, it was probably just a corrected coupon, not a new one, but it would have been helpful if the message made it clear. Sony really has caused some confusion.
