I woke up a few minutes ago to a big thunderstorm -- Thunder! Lightning! Rain!

It's been a few weeks since we've had rain here, so as usual everybody has to learn how to drive in rain all over again.

That means big traffic backups for the morning rush hour! (Not for me, though. I do have an appointment this morning, but it's just a few blocks away.)

I think the same weather system did some pretty severe damage in Dallas yesterday.

Well ... this afternoon we had torrential rains blown sideways with winds around 30 mph. Thunderstorms tonight!

Very scary storms expected this morning for the midwest, right in the middle of rush hour, with hurricane force winds. Phenomshel and Chris, I hope you've gotten somewhere with a full roof this morning.

We're not getting it here in the south, but it's a big storm, so there are other MR members in the path of this too.

Torrential rains this morning. Abnormally hot this afternoon (supposed to break our old record of 81 F) and tomorrow - then seasonally cool again.
Egad - I may have to mow the lawn once more before I pack up the mower and bring out the leaf blower and rakes!

Uhhh..nope. But we managed, albeit with more damage. Back room ceiling collapsed about 5 a.m.
